Graduate Schools Participating in NAKE

At the beginning of the 1990s new initiatives were taken by the Ministry of education and science to establish ‘research schools’ or ‘graduate schools’ In 1992 the CentER for Economic Research at Tilburg University received STIMULANS funding as a graduate school followed by Royal Academy (KNAW) recognition in 1993.  Other graduate schools at Economics Faculties participating in NAKE are METEOR (Maastricht University), Mansholt Graduate School (Wageningen University), Tjalling Koopmans Institute (Utrecht University), and SOM (Groningen University). The NAKE course program builds on the first-year MPhil program organiszd by the local graduate schools.
